Rich, Restorative, Ready for the Sun: The Case for Avocado Oil

Of all the oils in Pure Beach Sun Drops, avocado oil is the one that works the hardest. Where sweet almond oil is light and fast-absorbing, avocado oil is deep, rich, and intensely nourishing — the kind of oil that feels like it's doing something the moment it touches skin.

A Fruit Oil, Not a Seed Oil

Most oils used in skincare come from seeds, kernels, or nuts. Avocado oil is different — it's pressed from the flesh of the fruit itself, which gives it a distinct fatty acid profile and a noticeably richer texture than lighter oils. That richness is exactly why it earned a place in our formula.

What It Actually Does for Skin

It's packed with fatty acids. Avocado oil is high in oleic acid, along with linoleic and palmitic acids — a combination that helps support the skin's moisture barrier and leaves skin feeling deeply conditioned rather than just surface-hydrated.

It contains vitamins A, D, and E. These fat-soluble vitamins are naturally present in avocado oil and are commonly associated with supporting skin health and resilience.

It absorbs deeper than most oils. Because of its molecular structure, avocado oil is known for penetrating skin more effectively than many other plant oils, rather than sitting on the surface.

It's especially suited to sun-exposed, dry, or depleted skin. Its richness makes it a natural fit for the kind of skin our customer knows well — skin that's spent the day in salt water and sunshine, and needs real replenishment by evening.

Why It Belongs in Pure Beach Sun Drops

We built Pure Beach Sun Drops for a very specific ritual: for skin that's been in the sun, in the sea, and out in the world all day. Avocado oil is the ingredient that makes that possible. It balances the lighter, faster-absorbing oils in the formula — sweet almond and apricot kernel — with something more substantial, so the fragrance oil doesn't just smell indulgent, it feels indulgent, restoring what a day in the sun takes out.

Paired with olive oil's antioxidant richness and sweet almond oil's lightness, avocado oil rounds out a blend that's less about any single ingredient and more about how they work together — each oil doing a slightly different job, so the whole formula performs the way skincare should, not just the way fragrance usually does.

A Small Amount, Doing a Lot

You don't need a lot of avocado oil to feel its effect — a little goes a long way, which is part of why it works so well folded into a fragrance oil rather than a heavy standalone product. It's rich without being greasy, restorative without being complicated. Exactly the kind of ingredient that belongs in a ritual built around simplicity.
